Rebuilding Manchester Illustrations

A series of illustrations to represent key landmarks from  post-war Manchester.

Rebuilding Manchester, a book by Euan Kellie, celebrates the regeneration, rebuilding and rebranding of Manchester city centre in the post-war years.

This accompanying series of illustrations represent key landmarks from Manchester’s recent past - places that hold great memories for many people.

Using old photography for reference, the illustrations were initially created as line drawings, before developing a unique colour palette for each landmark.

Whilst every illustration has it’s own unique look, the consistency of style pulls them together as a series, which will be expanded upon moving forward.

Working with a company specialising in ceramics, the colours within the designs were then optimised for firing, before producing a collection of high quality mugs.

10% of each mug sale is donated to support Coffee 4 Craig - a charity which provides vital support for Manchester’s homeless and people in crisis.
